Does the Smart Home Help the Environment?

Technological advances keep increasing the comfort of our homes, to the point that daily activities have become automated in ways that help protect the environment.

That is why having a smart home is now essential, since it lets you optimize energy use simply by scheduling when devices turn on and off.

In the words of environmental psychologist Susan Clayton, people around the world want the same thing for their homes: “we all share the desire to have a space where we can truly express ourselves”[1].

Being able to customize your home and have it perform the actions you or your family need turns your house into what you have always wanted and needed. And technology also gives you ways to care for the environment.

For example, it is very common to rush out of the house in the morning and forget to turn off or unplug the hair straightener, wasting energy until we get home to turn it off… that is where the smart plug comes in. With one, we plug in the straightener and, even if we forgot to turn it off before leaving, we can have it turn off after a set time, keep it off at a specific time, or even turn it off from the App wherever we are.

Programa horarios y enciende o apaga manualmente desde la App

Actions like these, with the help of smart products, benefit our energy consumption and help protect the environment.
